Award Plastics is a manufacturer and distributor of plastics (such as Perspex, Plexiglas acrylic), displays and related products, from full sheets in various thicknesses and colours, panels cut to size or shape, a stock line of brochure/Menu holders, poster displays (illuminated or non) in standard paper sizes, along with special products designed and made to order in our fabrication dept.

We also vacuum form large & small parts, blow form dome shapes together a range of food trays and computer router machines that cut letters or any shapes. Our in house design dept can bring your ideas to life using not just plastics but also incorporating metals and wood. To complete this we have a full sign department which can provide vinyl lettering to flashing LED 3D letters or shapes, footpath signs and exterior signage.

We have an extensive showroom to view these products as well as the website. All enquires are welcome.

The News

Award Plastics & Displays are proud to install a larger Thermoforming machine into our premises increasing productivity, capacity, and capability; we can now form mouldings up to 2.5 metres long x 1.5 metres wide.

This machine is a real step up for us with the latest technology operating system, halogen flash heating system, automatic sheet loader and unloading also with twin sheet forming capability. This additional machine brings the number of Thermoforming machines up to three.

We also have other machines and skills to compliment our forming machines such as: Laser cuttings, CNC routers, and fabrication department to complete any project.

This unit was designed specifically for the 'Realtor' real estate magazine to distribute their weekly magazine in supermarkets, dairies and malls.

The customer had very little specifics for the unit only for how many magazines they wanted it to hold and for it to be weather proof. We chose a material for its construction which is relatively new to the market ACM. It is made of three layers, two outside thin skins of aluminum with a core of plastic. This made it very easy to construct together with being more cost effective than aluminum sheet as it comes pre-finished in many colours and finishes. A feature of the unit is it has a clear base inside approximately half up so that the storage area in the bottom can be seen when the top is empty and therefore anyone can re-stock it. It also has a rear handle together with castor wheels at the front making easily moved.

Introduction to Laser Cutting

Award Plastics & Displays has only recently entered into Laser technology with the purchase on 3 machines. Each of the machines has its speciality, a smaller machine for cutting small objects and with ability to engrave even on circular items together with 2 larger more powerful machines for cutting up to 25mm thick acrylic and engraving to photo quality in many materials including stone. We can easily laser engrave a photo or drawing from a file or scan an image, the possibilities are endless.

As a plastics company we specialise in laser cutting and engraving plastics which makes us the only plastics company with this in house capability. Therefore we can provide a fast high quality turnaround of your job, large or small.

Introduction to Thermoforming

Thermoforming or Vacuum Forming of plastics is a technique that can be used to produce many types of moulded items with this process being especially suited to smaller run quantities than injection moulding also with much lower tooling costs.
